Please keep in mind that I have a 48 hour cancellation policy for all appointments.  Any sessions – including the initial session – that are not canceled or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance will be billed in full ($150) to the client. 

Exceptions will be made for emergencies and illnesses  - only when the client notifies me more than 24 hours in advance. 

No exceptions are made for cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours prior to the appointment time.  This is the case regardless of the reason for the cancellation.

The above applies to ALL clients, including those with insurance.  Insurance companies do not reimburse for missed sessions – therefore you will be responsible for the full fee, regardless of your copay. 

This policy exists for two reasons:

1) To allow me adequate time to fill in cancellations with other individuals who are in need of my services. 

2) To protect against financial loss associated with appointment no-shows or last-minute cancellations.  

 

This type of policy is standard practice for most psychologists.

 

Please note:  These time parameters apply to the work week.  Thus, a cancellation of a 10 AM Monday appointment needs to be made by 10 AM on the previous Thursday (in the event of an emergency or illness, by 10 AM on the previous Friday).
